  • 1. Description

    This pass is a fantastic way to explore Eastern Japan by train, allowing you to travel at your leisure to and from a variety of fascinating destinations such as Tokyo, Nagano and Mount Fuji.

    The JR East Flexi pass will be available as an e-ticket so can be sent to you via email.

    This pass is only available to non-Japanese passport holders, under the entry status of "Temporary Visitor". Please see Terms and Conditions for further details.

  • 5. Validity

    The new JR East Flexi pass grants access, on 5 days within a 14 day period, to reserved sections in Ordinary class on participating lines. The pass holder will be allowed to board:
    - all Limited Express trains, including the Shinkansen "bullet trains"
    - Express and Local trains on JR East lines (including the bus rapid transit)
    - the Izu-Kyuko line
    - the Hokuetsu-Kyuko line
    - the Aoimori Railway line
    - the Iwate Glaxy Railway (IGR) line and
    - the Limited Express trains Nikki, Spacia Nikko, Kinugawa and Spacia Kinugawa, operating through the JR East lines

    In addition, the Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (Rinkai line) previously unavailable to JR East passholders, is now covered under this new rail pass.

    The pass is available in Adult or Child fares (no youth fare), in Ordinary class only. The JR East Flexi Pass is not valid in Green cars, private compartments, Sleeper trains, Liner and Home Liner trains. Additional charges will apply for the use of these accommodations.

    Once exchanged, the JR East Flexi Pass will expire:
    - after 5 days of use or;
    - after 14 days of validity regardless of whether all travel days were used or;
    - the day after April 13th, 2014 (as passes are on sale until March 31st, 2014).




  • 6. Terms and Conditions

    Eligibility:
    The JR East pass is valid for overseas visitors (non-Japanese nationals) who enter under the status of "Temporary Visitor”
    - The Japan Rail East Pass may only be used by the person whose name appears on the face of the PASS. Carry your passport at all times during your trip and be prepared to present it when requested.
    - The starting date of validity of the Japan Rail East Pass cannot be changed.
    - You may obtain a refund for your Exchange Order at the office that issued the Order within 12 months from the issue according to the regulation of each sales office.

    Validities:
    The pass is available in Adult or Child fares (no youth fare), in Ordinary class only.     Refunds:
    A JR East pass can only be refunded if it has not been exchanged and the exchange order must be sent back to us here within 12 months of the issue date shown on the order. A 10% handling fee and an administration charge will be deducted from the refund. Any return postage costs will be at the expense of the customer.
    Duplicate exchange orders and rail passes cannot be issued if lost or stolen.
    No refund can be made for any reason after the first date of use.
    Your PASS cannot be refunded, nor can the period of validity be extended, due to interruptions in train service, late departures or any other reason.
    These and other usage conditions are based on the Japan Rail East Passenger transportation regulations and Japanese laws. The validity of the Order before you exchange it for the Japan Rail East Pass is based on the regulations of the company that issues the Order.
    Any violation of these conditions of use and regulations will render the PASS void and your PASS will be confiscated. In the event of such violation, a fine of three times the fares and charges for all sections travelled shall be collected.
